Training with AI: Winning Against Humans – Evidence from Chess Computers, INSEAD Professor Henning Piezunka, Geneva
October 8, 2019
Artificial Intelligence (AI) has been shown to replace people in production and to enhance people’s ability to fulfill a particular task. One aspect that has yet to be addressed in-depth is AI’s ability to train people, points out Professor Henning Piezunka. Drawing on his research, he will talk about how AI can help people to become more competitive looking at evidence from the performance of chess-playing computer users and non-users. Join us for what will surely be a stimulating discussion with one of INSEAD’s leading innovation and entrepreneurship professors.

Henning Piezunka is an Assistant Professor of Entrepreneurship at INSEAD, teaching “New Business Ventures” class for MBAs and EMBAs. He is an award-winning researcher and teacher. Henning has published on crowdsourcing and competition in top academic journals (e.g., Administrative Science Quarterly, Academy of Management Journal, Proceeding of the National Academy of Sciences).  He has been on the INSEAD Dean’s list for excellence in MBA teaching every year since joining INSEAD and has won the INSEAD best teacher award multiple times. Before entering academia, he co-founded a company in 1998, and remained the founder-CEO until it was sold in 2016. In 2016, the company employed more than 30 people and served customers in more than 80 countries. Henning obtained a Diplom Kaufmann from the University of Mannheim (Germany), a Master of Science from the London School of Economics (UK), and a PhD from Stanford University (US).
