Moonfare: The Fintech For Private Equity, Co-founder Alexander Argyros, MBA’14D

Join us to hear about the fintech scale-up Moonfare, co-founded by INSEAD alum Alexander Argyros in 2016. Moonfare is a digital platform that provides access to top-tier buyout and private equity funds by pooling investments from individual high-net-worth investors and family offices. Since its launch, more than 20 private equity funds such as KKR, CVC, and Carlyle have been offered to qualified investors on its platform, while about 1,000 clients have committed more than €450m in assets under management (as of November 2020). Moonfare is part of the fintech trend that is digitalizing private equity, venture capital, and angel investments. With a minimum commitment of €50K, Moonfare “democratises” this asset class by making it accessible to wider pools of individually held capital beyond the traditional institutional investor.

This event will be via Zoom, featuring a 20-30 minute presentation, followed by a Q&A. It is free but registration is required. Being online enables IPEC Switzerland to comply with public health restrictions for large gatherings while letting us extend this invitation to alumni beyond the Swiss community. 	Alexander Argyros, MBA’14D, Board Member and Co-Founder, Moonfare Alexander Argyros is a technology entrepreneur and former private equity practitioner. Prior to co-founding Moonfare, he co-founded 7 Global Capital, a c.$80m cross-border technology growth fund with offices in San Francisco and Berlin after co-founding Somuchmore, a pan-European health and fitness technology platform that was acquired in 2016. Prior to his career as an entrepreneur, he was a member of KKR’s Private Equity team, working on technology, business services and energy transactions.
	Richard Bissonnet, MBA’81, Managing Director at XBorder Advisers, Senior Advisor at Quarton, a Cowen Company Richard is an independent advisor to European entrepreneurs and is also a Senior Advisor to Cowen’s M&A unit, Quarton International. He has board experience with start-ups and funds and has worked with clients throughout Europe and in South and South-East Asia.
	Martin Spirig, MBA’06J, Partner, Invision Martin Spirig is a partner at Invision, a leading small/mid-cap private equity firm with offices in Switzerland and Germany. His investment interest is German and Swiss SMEs with market leading positions in their respective fields. Prior to Invision, Martin was a consultant at Bain & Company in Singapore.
