The race to mitigate the effects of the energy crisis and climate change has seen one sector emerging: direct air capture. The technology is the only truly scalable solution to removing CO2 from the atmosphere, and is vital for both addressing unavoidable emissions, as well as cleaning up what has already been emitted.

Andreas has been CFO of Climeworks since early 2021. Prior to that, Andreas worked for 12 years for Swiss Engineering Group Bühler in General Management & Finance roles across Europe, Middle East, Africa and Asia, most recently helping to build the world’s first industrial plant making sustainable proteins from insects. Before INSEAD, he gained a BA in Business Administration from the University of St. Gallen.

Marco brings over 30 years of professional experience spanning from startups, as founder, board mamber and investor; to large global private and governmental corporations in energy, as senior global energy executive, covering governance roles; and philanthropic organizations, as board member and founder. He is currently Managing Partner of Payflow Digital, a fintech startup.
