The Joint Business School “Diamonds Are Forever” Ball is now behind us. With nearly 140 participants, eighty percent of whom were non-INSEADers, it was a truly joint event. The James Bond theme awakened the spy in all attendees.
A Bond Girl welcomed all at the registration desk with an invitation to be photographed in a James Bond or Bond Girl pose, wearing real Bond Girl jewelry designed by Stephen Webster for Skyfall. Live music by a performer arriving fresh “From Russia with Love”, entertained with songs from Bond movies. Her beautiful performance of Skyfall, had some guests thinking Adele was visiting the Domaine de Divonne.

The seated gourmet dinner was a good chance to get to know our fellow alumni better. Bond guns on each table, Bond silhouettes overlooking oLeGotha_Studio-Web-36ur shoulder, and just before the “007” desert, a Bond Quiz, on all things James Bond kept to the theme of the evening. Quiz winner, Pierre Guiol (INSEAD MBA, 11) won the Bull and Bear shaped silver cuff links from Stephen Webster Jewelry, who sponsored the event. See the quiz on SlideShare. (Scroll down)

After dinner the choice between dancing, Martini bar (shaken, not stirred) and LeGotha-Diner-48Casino was difficult. The best gambling skills, turned out to be taught at Kelogg business school whose graduate, Bernd Ehle, won the Casino competition. The DJ did a good job to please all music tastes till the early morning hours, while the restaurant continued endlessly pouring the Bordeaux 2009. The surprise of the evening was that everyone could leave with a printed professional photo taken at the beginning of the evening, some of which we posted here.

The event raised the bar high for next year’s Business School Ball. Stay tuned for the invitation and do not miss the biggest event of the year of Suisse Romande Business School Alumni Associations.
