Electricity grid in transition: opportunities and challenges in the electricity supply chain

The electrification of energy supply, coupled with the switch to intermittent sources, and the increase in demand, can only happen with an adequate national transmission and distribution system, and in coordination with the EU.

Emanuele and Marc will share their unique knowledge and insights on topics including:

Speakers

Emanuele Colombo
Senior Strategic Advisor to the Deputy CEO, Swissgrid AG 
Emanuele supports the development and implementation of the Electricity Market and Power System Operation & Development strategy at Swissgrid. He brings over 20 years of experience in the electricity market, with previous roles at Electricité de France and Réseau de Transport d’Electricité.
Emanuele holds a Degree in Electrical Engineering from the Ecole Supérieure d’Electricité and Politecnico di Milano, and pursued executive education at SDA Bocconi and IESE.

Marc Vogel
Senior Specialist Market & System Design,  Swissgrid AG
 

Marc Vogel heads the “Strategic Grid 2040” Project at Swissgrid. Previously he helped establishing energy trading at MVV Energie AG in Mannheim, shaping the liberalized German electricity market. In Switzerland, he first worked for Atel and, from 2005, in various functions for Swissgrid. Marc holds a Degree in Electrical Engineering at the Technical University of Karlsruhe.

Marco Montefiori, MBA’05J
President, INSEAD Energy Club Switzerland
 

Marco brings over 30 years of professional experience spanning from startups, as founder, board mamber and investor; to large global private and governmental corporations in energy, as senior global energy executive, covering governance roles; and philanthropic organizations, as board member and founder. He is currently Managing Partner of Payflow Digital, a fintech startup.
