Swiss Scholarship Stories

The INSEAD alumni of Switzerland believes in taking action to grow the pool of MBA talent ready to contribute to the health and growth of Swiss businesses of all sizes, so it created a scholarship exclusively for Swiss candidates.

Since launching in 2018, eight Swiss MBA students received scholarships of €20K.Two will graduate in MBA’22J, Stephane Ketchassi, Amanda Michel and two will graduate in MBA’22D, Jan Cornevin, William Kneuss.

Romain Fakhoury, MBA’20D, is the fourth recipient of the INSEAD Alumni of Switzerland Endowed Scholarship. Romain, an Attorney at Law, says the Swiss Scholarship enabled him to take part in the MBA programme. It was an eventful year to say the least. Taking classes in both Fontainebleau and Singapore, Romain’s studies were almost disrupted by the COVID-19 pandemic, but the school and its students resiliently adapted to rapid changes to make it through. Romain is now an Associate at Homburger, a leading law firm active in the Swiss private equity and venture capital ecosystem. Romain is looking forward to providing entrepreneurs and businesses with valuable and tailored services
Emilie Jacot-Guillarmod, MBA 20J, is the third person to receive the INSEAD Alumni of Switzerland Endowed Scholarship. The scholarship was instrumental in Emilie’s decision to pursue an MBA at INSEAD. INSEAD was always her top choice, but it would have been challenging financially to join INSEAD without the kind support of the Swiss scholarship donors. After graduation, Emilie plans to leverage her dual legal and business skills in the PE & VC and new technologies practices of Lenz & Staehelin, a leading Swiss law firm.
Remo Brühwiler, MBA 19J, received the second Swiss Scholarship. The Swiss scholarship acted as an amplifier of the very welcoming atmosphere Remo experienced when visiting INSEAD as part of his research on where to complete his MBA. Remo graduated in 2019 and is currently a Consultant with Boston Consulting Group in the United Arab Emirates.
Michael Vogt, MBA 18D, was the first recipient of the Swiss Scholarship. Michael had already decided to go to INSEAD after meeting inspiring student during a campus visit. When he learned about the scholarship, it confirmed that INSEAD was the right choice. Michael graduated in December 2018 and is a Team Lead for IoT applications at Schindler, one of the world’s leading providers of elevators, escalators, moving walks, and related services.
