Registration for IWIB Swiss Mentoring Program 2022
Deadline: January 21, 2022

You are invited to participate in the fifth edition of the IWIB Swiss Mentoring Program. This national program is limited to 10 mentees for Basel/Zurich and another 10 mentees for Geneva/Lausanne.

The mentoring program turns five in 2022-23
We are pleased to communicate that the currently ongoing fourth edition was fully subscribed. Since 2017 our program has enrolled 75 mentees and seen a total of 140 alumni involved, with a recommendation rate above 90%. A special thank you goes out to all the mentors who generously commit their time to the development of our alumni here in Switzerland. In 2022-23 the mentoring program will celebrate its five year-mark. We hope to see again many of you submitting your application, and make this five-year milestone one of true celebration.

What is the IWIB Swiss Mentoring Program?

The fifth edition of the IWIB Swiss Mentoring Program runs from December 2021 to March 2023. INSEAD alumni who would like to participate as mentee, mentor or both apply by Januray 21 2022, and are then proposed one to three potential matches by February 25. Applicants have until March 25 2022 to exchange with their potential mentors and provide us with their feedback so that we can pair one mentee with one mentor. The final pairing will be announced by end of March 2022 to enable mentors and mentees to start the actual mentoring sessions.

A toolkit will be provided to facilitate the sessions and support the program as well as a training session.

In order to cover the costs, we ask mentees to pay CHF100 to participate in the IWIB Swiss Mentoring Program. (XING link at the bottom of this email). This fee is refundable in case we do not find an appropriate mentor.

What is mentoring?
Mentoring is a voluntary non-profit relationship aimed at the development of the individual, both professionally and personally, in which two persons are involved (Mentors & Mentees). Mentors provide informal guidance to Mentees to help her/him carry out significant transitions in the level of knowledge, work and way of thinking; the objective is to enable the Mentee to fully apprehend her/his current role, his/her potential and foster personal and professional development.
It is different from coaching in that
▪ coaching is aimed at enhancing skills to improve task proficiency
▪ coaching content is well-structured, while Mentoring is more informal
▪ coaching goal are related to performance, while Mentoring goals are focused on development

Who can participate to the IWIB Swiss Mentoring Program?
The IWIB Swiss Mentoring Program is open to all genders and all generations. Mentees are not restricted to new graduates only; they could equally be alumni going through a significant career transition. We strongly encourage INSEAD women graduates to become mentees and mentors in the program.  As a mentee, defining your goal and clarifying your expectations is essential. Bear in mind that mentoring is not a channel for job search. Do not expect that mentoring will provide you with your next job. Reverse mentoring, when younger alumni help senior ones to navigate the new generations’ expectations is also possible.
If you have already applied or participated in the Program, do not hesitate to apply again if you would like to work on new goal or give a chance to other potential mentees.

How to register to the IWIB Swiss Mentoring Program?
To register as a mentor or mentee or both, kindly complete the Mentoring Application form (doc) (just replace the blue font sample text in the document) and send it to events@insead.ch by January 21 2022. If you apply as a mentee, the fee of CHF100 shall be paid on XING by January 21 too.

The Mentoring Application Form is essential. It is how we can suggest potential matches between mentors and mentees.

Please take this into consideration that we are a volunteer organization and appreciate your understanding that we do not have the resources to chase you for missing information or late submissions.

We look forward to welcoming you to the IWIB Swiss Mentoring Program and at an INSEAD alumni event soon.
