New CEO of Credit Suisse Group is an INSEAD Alumnus

Credit Suisse Group has appointed Tidjane Thiam to become Chief Executive Officer, taking over from Brady W. Dougan in June 2015. Urs Rohner, Chairman of the CS Board of Directors, said in a statement that the bank gets with Tidjane Thiam, “a strong and distinguished leader with an impressive track record in the global financial services industry”.  An MBA ’88, Tidjane has extensive international experience, including in wealth and asset management and in the successful development of new markets, according to the same source.

Tidjane Thiam is currently Group Chief Executive of Prudential plc, a London-based international financial services group with operations in the United States, Asia, Europe and Latin America. Born in Côte d’Ivoire, he was raised and educated in France (Ecole Polytechnique, Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Mines de Paris). Over the years, he has worked at McKinsey, Aviva and as a high-ranking civil servant in Côte d’Ivoire. He has several board positions. Most recently he joined the board of 21st Century Fox
